The Krays, I believe lived by a code of conduct & lived by that creed. London certainly was a lot safer in those days, tho that can be said of any major city, having lived in Sydney for 18 years I dont have access to "The East London Advertiser" very often to keep up with local news. NOT AS MUCH AS THEY GOT! The only REAL thing they did wrong was to get caught rejecting the poverty (in the only way that they could),that the so called ruling classes needed to keep the working class in. So that the ruling classes could keep living in comfort. I grew up in the east end in the 50's and I know!! They were streets ahead and an inspiration to many of us to better ourselves, unfortunatly they got caught. REST IN PEACE LADS - God will judge a mans heart not his position in life. I am waiting for you for an interval, some where very near, just around the corner, All is well.... CANON SCOTT HOLLAND. I am so sorry that Reg has now gone, nothing myself or anybody can say could do anything to ease the pain.I have always been fascinated by Reg and Ron and my friend Dean Molloy from Tean has had the privelige to meet Reg, and he told me what a gentleman Reg was, but then we knew that. I only wish that Reg was allowed out a lot earlier. Both Reg and Ron served a lot longer than they deserved, espesically by todays standards. They looked after and sorted out their own in the way that they knew, and whilst I don't agree with everything they did, Ido wish that there were people like them today in some ways, women and children were safe, which is a dam site more than can be said now. The death of a good person is always sad, but in this case I feel that England has simply thrown both of the brothers in jail, and left them to rot. A survey was recently conducted by "The Sun" and I believe that 73% of voters thought that Reg should be freed. Nobody deserves to be treated in this inhumane way. The death of Reg is not only the loss of a soul, but I feel that it is the end of an era - one that I never saw, and one that I can now never fully apreciate. U.K. - Tuesday, September 19, 2000 at 02:14:33 (BST) I was soory to here that Charlie died in prison,at least he died close to his brother. The Krays were murderors and deserved to go to prison, but not for as long as they did. They killed people to remove opposition and keep respect, which is no excuse really, but the Krays didn't kill for fun, they didn't moleste children and torchure them to death. Unlike some sick people in society today who get sent down for 10years, then realesed in 7 for good behavoir to kill again. If every murderor was sent down and did the full stretch then so would the Krays, but that is very rare if not obsolete so the Krays should be realesed aswell.
