Well Rick, that is a well balanced view, with one flaw. I quote: "In
my opinion Reg deserved to get life because he murdered someone and he got
caught" I would like to know what you mean by this. If he hadn't been caught
then what would he have deserved?

Somewhere, - Thursday, October 26, 2000 at 17:05:53 (BST)
Since Reggie's release I have been following this site with interest.
What interests me most is not the thousands of well wishers who have posted
their condolences on this page, but the few who have done the opposite.
So I thought that it's now time to set the record straight about crime and
punishment from my viewpoint. In the past I have served a number of prison
sentences for violent offences of which I am not proud but nor am I ashamed,
I do regret my past but only because I often wonder if it will catch up
on me. Some of the mailers on this site talk about an evil man who deserves
to rot in hell or should have been hanged along with his brother over 30
years ago. They also commonly express their disbelief that so many people
support what the Krays did which is reflected by the feedback on this site.
Firstly can I just say that this is a site specifically set up for that
purpose, the Krays were world famous and only some 11000 people have visited
this site. Secondly i'd like to tell you about the sort of people the Krays
killed and why. It's probably true that some people that suffered under
their reign may not have deserved to pay protection money, but then I pay
council tax and various other taxes and I don't feel that the police have
ever looked after my interests partly because i'm a reformed criminal. In
fact on one occasion I was arrested for theft simply because I was knocked
over by a motorcycle courier. In short I prevented him from escaping by
taking his keys. When the police arrived they saw him throwing bricks at
me, but because I have previous I got nicked. (The case was eventually thrown
out after five months of stress.) The Krays were convicted of Two murders
between them, George Cornell was shot by Ronnie and Jack McVitie stabbed
by Reg. George was a member of another highly feared gang run by a family
known as the Richardsons. George was a man who prided himself in fearing
nothing and when Ronnie shot him they were both laughing. Jack was a junkie
who once threw a woman out of a car and paralysed her for life. Reg didn't
want to kill Jack but Ronnie practically forced him to because Ronnie had
killed George. This suggests that there were only Two direct involvements
in murder by the twins. The media have speculated on others most notably
Frank Mitchell who was shot under orders from the twins. Franks family blame
the twins for ruining their lives but the truth was it was the police and
Franks fathers false belief that honesty pays that were responsible for
ruining Franks life. You see when he was a boy he stole a bicycle like alot
of boys do and his did took him to the local police station to own up to
his wrong doing. The police arrested and charged him and that was where
Franks life ended. After that he was in prison more than out and eventually
got life though not for murder. During his time in Dartmoor Ronnie got to
know him and decided to help out by arranging his premature release. Again
Reggie was opposed to this course of action. Frank proved to be a liability,
he was a wanted man hidden away in a flat in Dagenham. He wanted to be part
of the Kray empire but in reality was a child in a heavyweight wrestlers
body. He became agitated and threatened their empire, they didn't want to
but had no choice except to kill him. Had he lived he would probably have
spent the rest of his dysfunctional life in Broadmoor. Speaking of prison,
it's not fun and it's mostly full of imberciles. As already mentioned i'm
a reformed criminal who has spent 10 years trying against all the odds to
better myself. I didn't personally meet Reg but know many of his friends
and others who have met him, especially in his final years. I know that
sentence hurt him in a way that anyone who hasn't been to prison can never
know and I know he was not the man some believe to be. Nevertheless he was
stubborn, his intense honour and love for his mentally ill twin is what
is responsible for Reggie's fate. When Ronnie died six years ago I was glad,
not because I hated him but because I thought it was the only realistic
chance of Reg getting parole. Ronnie was sick, we all knew that and he couldn't
have ever been released. In my opinion Reg deserved to get life because
he murdered someone and he got caught, but he didn't deserve to serve 32
years, not for Jack the hat, he deserved to serve about half that with maybe
a few more for his fame and notoriety. Either way he should have been out
soon after his twins death at the very latest. I hape this message is perceived
as a balanced view that serves all from all walks of life especially those
people who see fit to anonymously attack a dead man based on a somewhat
narrow view of the whole picture. God Bless
Rick

My deepest condolences go out to reggies family and friends. I myself
am only twenty years old and have just recently been released from prison
myself. Whilst there i met an adult who knew reggie in another prison, he
only spoke to me for five minutes. Yet it was enough to show me that
reggie,
his brothers and his whole family were well respected and loved. To the
Kray Brothers: you will all be greatly missed and never will you be forgotten.
At last u are reunited. Rest In Peace.

RIP Reg, thinking of you always. I never did get round to writing to,
I kept thinking right I must write a letter to Reg, time passed and I still
never did it. Now that you have passed away I can't tell you how gutted
and upset I am. There is one thing I have learnt from it though is don't
keep putting things off - take time out and write a letter, make a phone
call , visit friends, etc life too short. I am sure we will meet someday.
Love to you always. Jxxxxx

My sincere condolonces go out to the remaining names in the Kray family.
Reggie was, some might say, a bad man. Perhaps he was. I defiantly dont
think so. He did what he had to do to make his name and money. The Krays
were a feared name and still would be to this day and I respect everything
they did for themselves, there families and each other in the Firm. Some
will say "Thank god they didnt have kids!" I say they should've. I lov the
Kray and everthing they did. they ruled the East End and were true Gangsters
in there time. I remember watching Ronnies funeral on the TV. When Reggie
stepped out all shackled up in cuffs and millions of coppers around him,
instead of booing the man they cheered him and wished him all the best.
He shouldve been let out a long time ago because of his illness. But they
are all "what ifs" Rest in peace Reggie, Ronnie and Charlie. Not forgetting
the lovely mother Violet Kray.

Freedom comes in many ways. The injustice of those many years spent behind
bars can never be forgiven or forgotten by right minded people. The crime
was committed(nobody denies that) but the continued refusal to release Reggie
and Ronnie showed how unjust and corrupt the British legal system really
is. R.I.P. Charlie, Ron and Reg. PS. Before any more wasters start writing
their vile comments about "The Krays" on this page, stop and think, how
many people will even consider the time of day when you leave this world?
Undoubtedly not many!!! Your very words show that you are friendless nothings.

My heart goes out to everyone who knew Reg in this sad time. I wasn't
there for the funeral, but i wanted to be. I didn't find out when it was
until it was too late. Lack of news reports. They delibrately played Reggies's
funeral down. It was their final insult to the legend that is the Krays.
He didn't know me, but i wished he did, now i will never know the great
Reggie Kray. It's a sad loss that will touch the heart of millions. To all
his critic, you are only jealous that no matter what you do, in goodness
or in bad, you will never ever be rememberd as much as Reggie Kray, or the
rest of his family for that matter. Be strong Roberta atleast his last days
were spent in freedom, something that he's no doubt dreamed of in all the
years of incarceration. I find it an honour that he chose to live his last
in Norwich. I did actually pass the "Town House" at the time when he had
to cancel his press confrence due to ill health. Now i wish i would have
gone in. The only thing stopping me was i didn't want to bother him. Im
not religious, but god bless Reggie Kray. Rest in Peace Legend.

loss of a gentleman. Your freedom came too late, but at long last you can
sleep in peace and rest with your brother Ron. To Roberta and the family,

I am only seventenn years old, but still I would still like to pay my
respects to a true gentleman. After taking the time to read the books and
watch the films about The Twins, I can honestly say that it is possibly
the biggest waste of two human beings imaginable. I feel that The Twins
are the most interesting people ever to grace our country and feel for the
way that Reg had to live on his own for all those years especially when
Ron had passed away. R.I.P Reg Kray

Being a member of Reggie's supporter club, I was gutted to hear he had
passed away, so shortly after his long awaited release, but at least he
did die a free man, even though his freedom was well over due, he got it
in the end, its just a shame he could'nt of enjoyed it, many thoughts to
his wife, at what must be a very difficult time in her life.
Bev <John@shobrooke.fsnet.co.uk>
Crediton, Devon - Friday, October 13, 2000 at 15:31:18 (BST)
It's amazing how a sad death inspires the worst kind of person to air
their 'views' about the person whose died. These people should shut up and
keep their thoughts to themselves. Ronnie & Reggie served their time
twice over, and should have been released years ago. There are evil people
today, murderers of children and old people who serve minimum terms in jail.
A book of condolence should mean condolence. Not a soap box for morons with
limited intelligence.
