For Many years Reg had been an inspiration and a loving Godfather to our son Rhys who has Spina Bifida. He always told Rhys that crime is wrong and to lead a good life is paramount. He also taught Rhys to look at his own strengths and to concentrate on the things that he can do. Reg offered support through all of Rhys' many trips to the operating theatre and through some difficult times. It is with a great sadness that we now say Rest Peacefully Reg and total freedom is now yours. We will always remember you for your love, support and kindness over the years. Elayne & Bryn James. For Reg: "The old familiar faces" by Charles Lamb. I have had playmates,I have had companions in my days of childhood,in my joyful schooldays; All are gone, the old familiar faces. I have been laughing,I have been carousing, drinking late, sitting late, with my bosom cronies; All,all are gone, the old familiar faces. I loved a love once, fairest among women: Closed are her doors on me,I must not see her- All,all are gone, the old familiar faces. I have a friend,a kinder friend has no man; Like an ingrate,I left my friend abruptly; Left him,to muse on the old familiar faces. Ghost-like I paced round the haunts of my childhood; Earth seemed a desert I was bound to traverse, seeking to find the old familiar faces. Friend of my bosom, thou more than a brother, why wert not thou born in my father's dwelling! So might we talk of the old familiar faces, How some they have died, and some they have left me, and some are taken from me;all are departed; All,all are gone, the old familiar faces.
Chris

What can be said when a man like Reggie Kray dies. There is nothing that can be said. Many called him and his friends villans but to most of the country and even the world called them heroes. I will not pretend that I know the Kray family nor will I pretend I know what the firends and family are going through because I don`t. But I do know how I feel. Although I said I don`t know the Krays I do know about the Kray family. This knowledge comes from all the books news paper articles whether good or bad and from what people tell me. I personally beleive that it was wrong for Reggie to be imprison for the amount of time that he was. Even though he did wrong he also done a hell of lot of right. The streets were a hell of a lot safer then than they are know. Many people have their own views and this is mine. I would just like to add my condolences and say that he did not die in vain.I hope the family carry on being strong. My Reg now rest in peace with his family. My thoughts and prays are with the friends and family

Reggie, It is time to rest your head now and stop paying for what you have done. You have left behind a wonderful wife but now you can lay with your brothers and mum. The british justice system has blood on it's hands, and will never be forgiven. But all of us now know that you will be smiling down on us from Heaven. God Bless you Mr Kray xx Gemma

Can't find the right words at this time. All I can say is that when the trial files are finally opened in 2032 (when they should have been opened in 1995) we may find that Reggie was indeed a political prisoner who has been greatly wronged by the British government. All my condolences to Roberta at this sad time.

Im only 17 but by reading the bioraphies i hav been able to discover the truth about the Krays and the thing that i find most incredible about them is the amount of years that they spent inside when there was real criminals gettin away with crimes against children for example and they were free to commit these sickening crimes again.Reggie was a gentleman and i hope that in someway that justice can be bought to Roberta.

I was sorry to hear Reggie never really got to walk the streets again. He did some bad things but wasn't as bad as Ronnie who wasn't well and liked young boys nor didn't deal in drugs like Charlie. They were true amabasadors for the real people of Eastend and the 60's.

May you now at last find peace, you did more than the time for your crimes, why do terrorists only do two,or three years for a so called political act and you did thirty two years???. You were a political prisoner, the system stinks, may you and your Brothers now be united, your name's will not be forgotten. God bless you all.

To Roberta and family My sincere condolenses for your loss. Reggie was the last of the decent 'villians' who made the Eastend streets safe to live in. It tragic that he was not parolled to help preserve the decency in our society. Rest in peace

You eventually got the freedom you deserved it was such a shame that it came too late. You may be gone but you and the rest of your family will never be forgotten. It may be the end of an era for some but for others it is just the beginning of a lifetime of memories. Such a sad loss for all those left behind. R.I.P xxx

Just wanted to add my condolences to everyone especially Roberta. Having supported Reg's plight and attended various functions I am sad that he was only released after Mr Straw knew he was dying and that he saw so little of the freedom he deserved. Please keep us posted about the funeral arrangements as I shall travel down from Newcastle to pay my respects. 'Stay Strong' he would have wanted it.
