| The Krays will live on in their Legend they will be talked about for
years, many people did not agree with their morals, but no harm was done
to the innocent, people showed respect for others which is how life should
be , nowadays we have child killing scum walking the streets and nothing
is done about it, this country needs its morals sorting out! The kray Twins
are now reunited and more powerful than ever may they rest in peace ! Our
thoughts should go out to Roberta and ensure her that she has many freinds
she has never met, and if anyone has any comments other than good ones to
make on the krays go do it somewhere else and not in this book show some
respect RIP Andy Hollinson <AndyH@RebootSecurity.co.uk> UK - Friday, October 13, 2000 at 11:20:17 (BST) For Roberta and family: REMEMBER REMEMBER me when I am gone away, Gone far away into the silent land; When you can no more hold me by the hand, Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay. Remember me when no more day by day You tell me of our future that you plann'd: Only remember me; you understand It will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards remember, do not grieve: For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once I had, Better by far you should forget and smile Than that you should remember and be sad. Capleton <GEMMACAPLETON@AOL.COM> ESSEX, - Friday, October 13, 2000 at 09:32:53 (BST) You wasted your life by indulging crime but repented and would not want impressionable young men to look up to you because you were a murderer. Roberta is right to distance herself from the criminal element, she married a reformed gentleman not a repulsive criminal. Respect for not having your coffin carried by scum. Dave <Davedee@hotmail> - Friday, October 13, 2000 at 08:13:02 (BST) Both myself and my sister loved the video made about the twins which we watched from a young age. Tracy Geiger formely of Braintree Essex Tracy Geiger <geigerl@earthlink.net> peachtree city Ga, USA - Thursday, October 12, 2000 at 02:47:49 (BST) I attended Reggie's funeral as I did Ronnie's, and I find it so hard to believe that the government of this country can get away with mass extortion i.e. fuel tax etc while others get sent away for life for far lesser crimes. An era has indeed ended, but while people still exist who know the difference between right and wrong and can see through the media rubbish and governmental lies then there is still some hope for us. R.I.P. Maybe now the real stories can be told without media intrusion and opression. A person I wish that I had known, a missed opportunity to meet a man who seemed to be one of the last real genuine gentlemen that will grace us with his presence. I have spent the last 10 years of my life researching, reading to accumulate the knowledge to enable me to make an informed decission as to what I believe the Kray family to be like and I can honestly say that, even trying to make myself dislike them, I could not. A note to the media and governments past and present, even in death you have lost nothing can crush what is now a legend. REST IN PEACE REG. There was a ripple of applause amongst spectators as Kray's body was carried to a waiting hearse. Mourners following from the church included actor Bill Murray, a friend of the Krays and a star of the ITV police drama The Bill. At the funeral service in Bethnal Green, Kray's solicitor Mark Goldstein told the congregation of his client's "amazing determination and spirit", and said the image of him portrayed in the media was unfair. "I have first-hand knowledge of his kindness and generosity," Mr Goldstein said. "You should not believe everything you read. Reg was an icon of the 20th Century. A man who had the ability to draw attention from the outside world." Mr Goldstein said had Kray not become ill with bladder cancer it was unlikely he would have been freed from prison. "Despite the fact that the majority of the people supported the campaign for him to be released, he never truly had his freedom." He added: "His personality was captivating, as was his amazing sense of humour." Dr Ken Stallard took the theme of Christian forgiveness for his address at the funeral. He said Ronnie Kray had written to him after reading his book on the subject of drug abuse problems among British youngsters and said he had met Reggie after months of campaigning to meet him in Parkhurst Prison. He said both Ronnie and Reggie Kray had sought spiritual forgiveness while they were in prison, although Reggie had sworn him to secrecy. "He said 'Don't you go telling anyone that I have become a Christian. That stays until I have gone because I don't want anyone to think I have done it to get parole'." Dr Stallard said he had felt that both the twins had been capable of depths of spiritual feeling which the world had never seen or known and which they had found difficult to express. "I found Reg a man of great thought and great depth and he was a great help to me." He said the gangland killer had helped to organise a party to raise money for a struggling youth club and said people had not understood his capability for generosity, care and consideration. "During those 17 years of association with the Kray family, I have found comradeship, friendship and very dear love. They spoke their mind, they were honest, they were upfront." Now that this is the end of an era, may the whole family rest in peace and look down on all of us knowing that when they reigned over the East End they looked after the old, sick, poor and their own. May people remember the good they did and not the bad. I had a letter published in the Sun regarding this and I correspond regularly with one of Reg's friends - John Heibner. I cannot beleive the way that these gentlemen have been treated. Jack - Wednesday, October 11, 2000 at 09:54:50 (BST) Robert of East London and Roger Warren, this is a book of condolence and not an open opportunity to bitch at the Krays and anyone who express any form of sympathy. You talk about get on with your own pathetic lives...pot calling the kettle black me thinks!! How poor is you life that you would have a pop at anyone and everyone in a book of CONDOLENCE?? You are extremely disrespectful of the dead and this makes you a lesser man! If you carry out the rest of your life in such a bitter and twisted fashion then there will be nobody signing the book of condolence for you. What goes around comes around, bitch! Anon uk - Wednesday, October 11, 2000 at 08:35:45 (BST) Respected. Gary Blackman <dyawantsome@hotmail.com> Basingstoke, UK - Wednesday, October 11, 2000 at 08:26:05 (BST) If you do not wish to spend 30 years of your life behind bars, do not commit murder (for no real reason). The backbone of our country is justice for all. These men were murderers and they have payed their price. Do not have sympathy for their crimes, have sympathy for their death alone. Was the funeral of Jack the Hat as big as this.... Will he be remembered as a good or bad person... DO NOT GLORIFY KILLERS. Robert <none> London, East, UK - Wednesday, October 11, 2000 at 08:22:58 (BST) Deepest Sympathies. Rest In Peace. Russell Baricevic <tspm@smartchat.com.au> Collingwood, Ausatralia - Wednesday, October 11, 2000 at 01:28:00 (BST) I have never met any members of the kray family , but have heard of them from my parents and grandparents. I am appauled at their treatment by the government because their release was classed as a "hot potato" , and yet due to the "Good Friday agreement" the same government saw fit to release hundreds of IRA murders, snipers and bombers whose crimes were thousands of times worse than anything Reg and Ron had ever done. So my deepest sympathy goes to the friends family and associates of Reg may he rest in peace and be free evermore.
